The past two weeks have been a wild ride. After the MVP launch in August, I dove straight into v2 with mixed feelings. On the one hand, I was excited to demonstrate my technical capabilities. On the other hand, I was skeptical — I didn’t want to overload the app with too much at once. My mission was simple: create something of real value for the community.
And wow… these two weeks were fun, frustrating, and incredibly rewarding.
The Journey
The highlight for me was watching the All Drinks page come alive. Building the new filters so users could smoothly explore drinks felt like unlocking a whole new UX layer. Seeing it work gave me the same rush as logging a great sip for the first time.
The hardest part? Not a feature, surprisingly. It was making the leaderboard responsive and aligned properly. That little design challenge swallowed four days of my life. In the end, I chose functionality over pixel-perfect UX — because v2 needed to ship. Sometimes as a builder, you have to make peace with “good enough” so you can move forward.
And there were small but meaningful moments, too. Like removing the BETA banner. That felt like Drinkzy was finally “coming out” into the big world. It might sound small, but for me it was a symbolic milestone: the project looks and feels more polished now.

Reflections
These two weeks reminded me why I love building. I learned (again) that small design details can eat up days, while big technical features sometimes just flow. But more than that, I confirmed something about myself: building web apps is what makes me truly happy.
A huge thank you to the Drinkzy users who gave feedback — especially Rumfest and Ornelo — and to my family for their patience while I disappeared into my laptop. Drinkzy is a side project, but one I’m deeply passionate about.
Closing
Drinkzy 2.0 isn’t just an update. It’s a new chapter — a relaunch of the experience. From logging drinks to exploring the community, v2 makes sipping more social, more playful, and more personal.
And trust me… this is just the beginning. 🥂
